Major help on selections of sounds!!!!!!!! <---------
i got a civic and i am pullin 2 subs that are 800 watt max and a 400 watt component set . Which is better to use for the sound system, a seperate battery or a cap??? And can u tell the differnences between both of them????
i have both but it depends on if you need them or not. if your amp is drawing too much current, get a cap first, its cheaper and see if that solves the problem. if your lights still dim then its still drawing too much current so get the battery. thats what i did and was told.
A second battery will do nothing to help your dimming solution, and it may actually make it worse. Use a second battery only if you plan on listening it to extended periods with the car off.
What's happening, is your alternator can't produce enough juice to support your amps. I would consider upgrading the underhood wiring, then try a cap. They are a bandaid, but my help in your situation.

400 watt components???
dear god, focal and infinity push 200watt, which components do you have??
if they are actually 400w clean, then your gonna nead a 1 farad cap and prob an alternator upgrade to push the system.

pretty much all caps are the same because there are only a few companies that actually make them so as long as its a name brand you will be ok.
