I just picked up some h&r sport springs from my friend and one of my other friends said that you can install h&rs without a spring compressor. He said to unbolt the top and slowly jack it up. My friend said it could work but it might pop. So should i do that method or find a spring compressor because i have been riding on one h&r for awhile and want the rest done.

 

Just take caution and rent one for FREE.

 

how much does it cost at autozone

 

it's like a 35 dollar (dont quote me but its around that) deposit that you get back when you return them.

Harbor Freight Tools sells them for 15 bucks or so.

Yes they are the good ones too that has an actual hook!

 

have a friend stand on the sping in the grass when removing the top hat and things will work out fine. I have never used a spring compressor and done about 100 sping swaps.

me too I just stick my foot on it and use an air gun and it works fine

 

If you get both off, you could duel at 10 paces like my brother and I do. Usually you won't hit each other.

 

Oh man, are spring compressors overkill now?

 

you just dont need em dude, maybe for your dads f150 but not a honda spring. heck our springs are so small its tough just to use a compressor

Yeah that's true, I really couldn't get the Autozone ones on, so I had to go to Harbor Freight to buy the ones that would fit.

 

You dont need a compressor to get the springs on. I just pulled down slightly on the top hat while someone else threaded the nut.

But still a wrong way to do it..

That way didn't work for me, was hard to do.
