Default Is it okay to install springs without a spring compressor?

My friend said he would do it for me since he's done it to his car before and he said its okay without a spring compressor. All the spring compressor does is make it easier for the entire process to fit the spring in right?

Doing it w/o a spring compressor is not an option.

haha actually ive done springs without a compressor. had 2 people push down on the spring just enough to thread the bolt on.

anyway get a compressor tho. you can rent them from autozone/checker.

If you are a DIY'er, I'm sure you could make a spring compressor. But like Kamin said- just go rent one from Auto-Zone.

Use your feet and aim it into the bucket. Its a piece piece of cake.

Some aftermarket springs don't need a compressor. I've done mine (g2 teg) and my friend's rsx without the compressor.

Aftermarket springs are smaller than stock ones. You will just need a compressor to disassemble the stock unit to get the top mount off if you need to reuse it.

I've never used a spring compressor. just an impact to get the nuts on the strut loose.

i raely use a srping compressor
i often lossen the nuts on the shaft while the car is on teh ground and then put the new spring on and let the weight of the car compress the spring.

yup, never had to use one. just pop the top bolt off and aim the spring away from you and watch it pop off!

as far as putting it back together you won't need a spring compressor b/c ur lowering spring isn't as long as stock... therefor it wont have to be compressed.
