Can A Starter....
Starter solenoids will sometimes act up like that. The starter will be fine when the solenoid is cold, but say you drive it around and get it hot, go into a store real quick, get back in your car and try to start it, and it won't start. Let the solenoid cool off a bit, and it will start again. This happened to me before in my 95 civic. Also a bad connection can do that, driving around loosens the concection, the next time you try to start the car, it doesn't work.
well i dont think this is the common MFR problem bc I have replaced that but just recently its got to be the worse its ever been. I was thinking the contacts could be worn out or something inside.
Or when it wont start I can sometimes get the car rolling enough that i can jump in and let the clutch out. im not going nearly fast enough to get it started on my own. but it grabs a tiny bit. then I try turning the key and it will fire right up, its kinda wierd. And also when it wont start on its own everytime so far I can just bump start it and it will start right up.
I've also been looking at this ad on ebay and thinking of getting it? Any reason I shouldn't?

anyone with opinions or thoughts on everything I just mentioned feel free to throw them out there

ls19integra95: Not so much a buzzing I hear the pump prime when you turn the key. And when it doesnt start you hold the key in the start position and you can hear something kinda. I dont know how to describe it. I think 'buzzing' was the wrong word. Its not even close to being as loud as the pump priming, its just a different noise...
im having a similiar prob, my car sometimes will start right up or sometimes it will sit there and crank over for awhile till it will actually start... i was told that the starter could be the problem... so if you do replace it and it works then let me know...

u might wanna check your ignition switch/harness i have a 94 dx coupe and i was having the same problems. it would be fine and then outta no where it wouldnt start, my fuel pump would prime sometimes but not all the time and all my other accesories would work but it wouldnt start. i put a new ignition switch in and it started right up
well i have a 95 ls teg and the pump primes every time but for some reason the car will start perfect one day but then the next it takes awhile for it to actually start... it will crank over every time and actually sound as if its about to start but then kinda jus goes back to turning over and over... my plugs, wires, distributor, battery are all new too...
Da 33 .....Just change the starter!
Its not difficult or expensive, and when you do it clean your battery connections and check all of your ground connections(tranny to chassis, battery to chassis, valvecover to chassis). You can have any parts store check it for you when you take it in for core. If for some reason that does not fix the problem pop off the plastic under the steering wheel and check the harness from the key to the fuse box. Good luck.

First a new starter is around $250 Canadian. Thats why I was looking at some of those remanufactured ones on ebay. My battery is brand new, the posts are clean along with the terminals are new. I have already cleaned the valve cover ground and the one off of the tranny.
ls19integra95: My car doesn't turn over like your saying yours does. Everything is fine it just doesnt start. Then sometimes you hold it and flick it back and forth a few times and it will start.
From what I've been reading over the months I'd say its a toss up between the starter and ignition switch

This realy sounds like an ignition switch problem! Take the cover off your column and under the dash below your column, get a short phillips head screwdriver and take the black and white plastic capoff of the back of the part your key turns and pull it off, then look at the metal tab that comes out of where the key goes and the plastic part that attaches to it. If there is no visible wear then use the screwdriver and put it in the hole in the plastic where the key part turns it and turn it. Be very concious of where the key (screwdriver)makes the starter engage, and when the engine fires. if it seems loose or sloppy or turns over inconsistentely then that part of the wiring harness is bad and you should just replace it. Good luck!
well the car started first try when I started it today then I stopped and a couple hours later I went to start it and it wouldnt even turn over. So I luckly parked on a hill and popped the clutch and it started no problem so I dont know now
