Default I think my friend wasted my fuel injector cleaner.

I was filling up at the gas station, and I bought a bottle of fuel injector cleaner, so my friend offered to put that in, and pump my gas while I washed the windows and cleaned some crap out of the inside.

So anyway, he was getting the pump nozzle and I grabbed the bottle of fuel injector cleaner to throw it away, and it didnt appear to be all the way inserted in the hole where the gas pump goes (the one with the trap-door thingy)

Nothing came out or got on the paint, but i noticed some slots around the main gas hole, could the fuel injector cleaner have gone in there and not in the gas tank?? There wasnt any fluid on the ground or anything, but I keep worrying that it bypassed the gas tank some how.

So could he have dumped an entire bottle of this stuff on the ground w/o even knowing it??

Thanks!!!!

i think your fine, even with those overflow slots, if he had not inserted it properly the cleaner would have come out with enough force that it would have splashed all over him and the side of the car had he not inserted it properly...

ok, cool, I was afraid he wasted my hard earned cash, and he is a good friend so I would feel bad telling him that.

Peace

Great, that is what i thought at first, but I had to be sure. This saves me a lot of trouble, and $5, b/c I was worried I would hurt my friends feelings, b/c he is starting to get into imprts, and it would be really shitty to know you couldnt even put fuel injector cleaner in the gas tank right. Know what im saying??

Thanks!!!!!

who cares its just a bottle of fuel injector cleaner. It probably wouldnt have done you much good anyways, the proper way to clean your fuel injection is to bring it to a mechanic and have them hood it up to a carbon cleaning machine with a remote reservoir and some high strength carbon cleaner.

Im sure $5 isnt a lot to you, and it isn't a lot of money to me, but would you like to take a $5 bill and just burn it?? I didn't think so.
