Default motor cools quickly?

my motor seems to cool down quicker then i think it should when i cut it off, and when i turn the heat on the temp gauge drops from right around 210 degrees to 190ish... i was just wondering if this was normal, if its not what does that mean? thanks.

I think its only a problem if it starts to overheat, but i have no idea what an actualy operating temperature should be. How are you getting an accurate temperature?

when you say it cools to quick, you mean when you turn the car off it cools really fast, and next time you start the car it's cool?

I think he means that his engine will be warm, then he will accelerate or use the fan and it cools down?

If so, that's a thermostat.

well im getting the accurate reading because i have a water temp gauge since the gauge on the tachometer is broken, but it loses heat quickly when the car is turned off and turned on a short while later...just like tippyman was asking

Virginia eh? Well up here in Canada, sometimes the weather can be as cold as -40C, that's eh...well like really freaking cold in fahrenheit.

Our engines go from running temp to freezing cold in a matter of minutes. We don't have problem. Your fine.
