try putting some fluid in it and spin the input shaft a good amount of times, the fork could just be getting stuck from sitting, or pull it apart to find out whats wrong with it.

Why didn't you check that it went into gear before you bought it.......

How can I know if it's in what gear?? I bought the tranny out of the car.

the shift linkage shaft on the trans with the linkage off will have a hole it. u can put a screwdriver in it all the way, pushing and pulling on the shaft will be same motion as if you were moving the shifter in nutral. going left or right will be the gear selection. reverse gear will give u a lite thump when engaged this way and fifth will be opposite of that. in the middle left & right wil be 3rd and 4th. and lastly 1st & 2nd.

if you can't go into 2-4 or R it sounds like a shift fork is stuck. you probely have to pull it back out the car, and dissasemble it. was the trans sitting long without fluid it?

yeah, it's a LS linkage I think. Same as mine. He just called me and said that I might just need to oil it. Dont know how long it's been sitting without oil. But i'm guessing not long, because he just put it up for sale. He sold it because he bought a b16.

715civic is a great guy. I have dealt with him and he's a really good guy when it comes to building and helping out people. As for the tranny I know it was in good running condition before he help swap it out for a b16 tranny for one of my buddy friend because he wanted to go NA LS. The integra ls only got 80K on it and was running fine.

I just gave 715civic a called about it and he said that you said that you didnt even but any tranny fluid in it and try to shift it. For sure you may ruin it too without the tranny fluid. Plus it also depend on how you install it and did you open it or mess it with.
Just make sure you install it correctly.

Over all for sure the tranny was in good condition. I hope you guys will work things out. Again he's a good guy and he's probably busy so dont try to come on here and say bad stuff.

Hey man, I didn't even say sh*t about 715civic--but I DO know the whole story, thanks to you.

I suggest you mind your own business before you dig your friend a deeper hole. How ironic is it that I bought a transmission from your friend and we experienced the same problems--same transmission type. Hmmm...if one didn't know better, he might even think it was the same transmission...

Sorry I’m from Racine and I just purchased my coupe from the Chicago area. My tranny problem was just tranny fluid. I had too much in it and it was slipping. Anyways the owner of the tranny is a hmong dude from Madison and it came off an integra. So sorry it’s not the same tranny.

Wow! Anyways I’m not going to respond to all the stupid stuff. When I got your message I called you and I told you I was out of state and was busy. And when I get back we’ll work something out. As for DETOUR180, just ignore him. And the tranny I sold you was not his. Overall pm me and we’ll go from there.
