Default valves ticking

my 97 type-sh just went over 150,000 miles and now my valves are ticking. ive owned it for the past year and a half, since it had 135,000 and have always changed the oil every 3,000 miles using mobil 1 10w-40 synthetic. normally i hear the valves tick when im low on oil so when i heard it i decided to do an oil change and normally the noise always goes away when i change it, but this time the noise persist after i changed the oil. do u guys think if i adjust my valves the noise will go away? because i searched and read that alot of people adjust them and the noise doesnt go away. or should my oil be thicker? what do you guys recommend? the noise is not loud it just bothers me knowing something isnt right. thanks

What, you havn't done a valve lash adjustment? Its part of routine maintenance to have your valve lash inspected and adjusted.

probably time to do a valve adjustment. That'll lower the noise and save gas. There are a lot of people in FL who work on Prelude who can probably help you out. Just check out http://www.sfpoa.net

Try checking your valve lash and switching to 10w-30. It just could be that your letting it run low depending on how low.
