In my opinion I would go with a swap ( B Series) then go from there!

What it really comes down to is what you want to do with the car. If you just want a quick car, i would swap in a d16y8 and turbo it. You can turbo your y7, but that won't solve your problems you are having with it. Plus, with how straightforward swapping a y8 would be compared to the amount of power you would see between the two, it wouldn't be worth it not to swap.

Example: Two of my friends cars.
96 Civic coupe d16y7, SSAC t25 turbo kit on 10psi-175 whp
94 Civic coupe d16z6 (same as y8 for argument's sake) SSAC t25 turbo kit on 10 psi- 207 whp.

same exact turbo kits, same exact boost the z6 made 30 more wheel horsepower. The Z6 turbo actually made 187 ft. lbs. of torque as well, which is more whp than the y7 made, that should tell you something right there. haha

If you're on a budget, boost a z6. You can build it up piece at a time and do it right. If you aren't on a budget, H2B that piece.
