is there a difference on map sensors?
i tryed a map sensor off of my friend's accord, on my 5thgen prelude, they fit the same, the label on my map is blue and the one from the accord is silver, i tried it on my car, but the problem does not go away my car still turns off at a complete stop, do you guys think is the tps or i should buy the one specified for my car? they told me to see if the car was trowing a cel, im kind of new to problems in my car, so if someone experienced would tell me whats a cel?
Hey cel is "check engine light". I have somewhat of the same issues with my h22a. Does it idle fine when cold but, when warm idles up & down & then cuts off? Might want to look into your iacv = "idle air control valve" or tps "throttle position sensor". Iacv could be dirty & need cleaning try that 1st before replacing it. Also when your car is warmed up try unplugging the tps sensor. If that stops the problem then it could be that too. I always start replacing cheap then work towards more expensive stuff. As far as map sensors I'm not sure if there is a difference or not best to try the search engine. Good luck!
yea when running cold it runs good, but warm it starts turning off, and i havent unpluged the tps but i will try. where is the iacv? i cleaned the egr, and tryed one off another prelude=same, my next step is to change the tps, or do you have any suggestions on how to test the wires before removing it and buying one? and yes it does have the check engine light on.
you know that checking to see if teh check engine light is on, then determining what code is showing is a lot easier than randomly changing parts?
hit up the FAQ up top there should be some good info to help you check the codes. Doing that will save you a LOT of time and frustration.

The iacv is on the front of the intake manifold & sorta behind the fuel rail. I had to take off my fuel rail to get to the 2 bolts that hold the iacv in place. Wasn't too bad but will take more than a few mins to do & make sure have a cold engine, plenty of rags for the two coolant lines & lil bit of fuel from the rails. You can clean the iacv with simple green & water in the two ports after drying it well reinstall it. Right now I have my tps unplugged & my cars running good but, it's only a temporary fix untill I get another tps sensor from another honda. Tried the autoparts store & they don't carry it. Junkyards are my next move but, I think you need to take off the throttle body to get too it. I think I seen some new on ebay for about $50 but, I'm on a real budget.
