Default Crankshaft position sensor NEED info...

Heres the deal I have a 96 OBD11 honda prelude (h22) I blew the motor last year and recently purchased another h22. I requested an OBD11 motor but recieved and OBD1 motor. So here is my issue..

Apparently there is no crankshaft postion sensor on the OBD1 motor and without the signal from that I have no spark. So my question is can I simply just mount the sensors to the oil pump housing (are mounting spaces there?) and if so where is it reading signal from?

If its not possible to mount to current oil pump and I was to just install oil pump from my blown motor would that solve my problem or again would it need something else to recieve signal?

Any help with this would be great I just spent a lot of time installing everything and need to know if the above will work or if i have to take the motor out and get another one..... Dont want to switch harness and ecu because I need it to pass emissions. Thankyou for any help.

You'll need to swap the oil pumps in order to get the sensors to mount up down there.

The sensor reads the balancer drive sprocket. You will need to swap it from your old engine too.

Good call sik

You'll need both the crank gear and the balancer gear to be exact.
