Default f22b knock sensor help!

hey fellow luders

I have 92 si with a f22b swap, as everyone knows already, it does not need a knock sensor. im running the stock p14 ecu and I am getting a codes 17 & 23.

i know 17 is for vss, would this trigger a code 23 if a knock sensor was installed or even bypassed with the piezo buzzers from Radio Shack?

i`ve searched all over and nothing is really coming up except get a p28 or p39 ecu.

do i have any other options? i know alot of people have done this swap, but what are you guys doing about the code 23. the car bogs like crazy and runs in limp mode.

any help would be appreciated. THANKS!

Go to an auto salvage place and get a knock sensor for cheap, weld a metric nut onto the alternator or A/C bracket and extend the lead to the harness.

Or get a P28 and tune it.

...or get an f22b ecu, and not the h23 ecu that you have

hey guys thanks for the replies,

i got a 240sx knock sensor from a friend, tapped a line from the ecu for the knock, D3 ( i believe) no luck, drove and it came on like 5-10 mins later.

as doe for the f22b ecu, i looked on ebay and they only have the automatic one. i checked out phearable.net, not too sure about it yet. since im still trying to think of a fix for this.

any more input would be greatly appreciated.

Ima gunna go out on a limb and suggest using a HONDA knock sensor. They're all the same in theory but in terms of output signal there's probably a difference. If you can't find one cheap I've got a few I'll ship you one for $12.

I'm sorry to inform you, but there will be no "fix" for a mismatched ecu/engine setup. You're never going to get it running well without either getting the correct factory ecu, or getting a tunable setup.
