Default What head gasket to use?

Just looking for opinions. I am rebuilding my gsr this winter, keeping the motor stock and adding a JRSC @ 6psi. I was planning on apr headstuds and rod bolts. I was considering oem or cometic. Also is copper spray neccessary? I have rebuilt alot of engines at work, but I have never delt with anything other than stock stuff. I searched cometic vs. oem and found one thread that BASHED cometic. I have a friend at work with a 8 sec. dragster, who builds circle track engines and he swears by them. Any help apprieciated.

Oh haha. The only thing I could say that I didn't do (which I just didn't even think about) was to copper spray my 2nd Cometic headgasket. Someone pointed out that deficiency in my write-up too. Yes I will give it to them that I didn't copper spray the cometic, but that is no excuse for their gaskets to suck. If you're manufacturing gaskets I would expect that the units would have enough quality to not need it. Why would I say that....it's simple, OEM's aren't copper sprayed and they hold just fine. Hmmm food for thought.

You can get the copper spray from Pepboys/AutoZone/etc. Here is an Amazon.com link to the exact product you are looking for, but AutoZone's sell it. http://www.amazon.com/Permatex...BNUDQ
