Default having body shop rocker/quater section

Old rusted rocker.

i am having a body shop install a section of my rocker/quarter panel skin. i picked up the following section from my local pick your parts. i'm trying to do most of the prep for to cut cost down. 200 bucks installed. is this sound about right? here is what i have so far does this look okay to you guys?

drilled out all spot welds with a 1/4 stepping drill bit

Step 1.) Center Punched and slight opened up with a 1/8 bit. This way when i use the 1/4 drill bit things will go smoothly, and not bounce out of the hole

Step 2.)Started to drill out spot welds with a stepper bit to 1/4 holes

Step 3.)All upper holes have been drilled out.

200 bucks installed sounds crazy cheap for that. It would come out to like 5 hours labor. I wouldnt install a used rocker section and quarter skin for that price. Spot welds look good though. Are they painting this for your as well? If so u can start to prep your piece by removing stickers and sanding everything down with 150 grit dry sand paper.

i used a 1/4 hole but seems like the peace still doesn't want to remove from the inner metal. hmmm im going to talk to them today. they should do the body work to it. or even if they just install it i can do the filler work.

The pieces areent just going to come apart. U will have to go inbetween the pieces with something about as thin as a putty knife. Beat it with a hammer and it should slowly but surely start seperating, as long as u got through all the weld that is.

It does not look as though u did get thorugh all the weld on your 3rd and fourth pics. If there is any weld left at all...u arent gonna get the section apart

Well sorry I didn't align the pictures up in the following steps. I re-edited the post. Everything should make sense now. Thanks for all the help. Just wanted to know if i was doing everything correctly. The hammer and flat paint scraper is a great idea.

Wait, you are buying the paint? can't your body shop do that or are you planning on priming it for them?
