Default Spool k20 type-s tranny what you guy's think.

Well i need to rebuilt my tranny and was thinking on either quaife or a spool. Tell me the pros and cons. Other than the diffrence in money. The car is gonna be a street and track car, some what daily driving. Thanks for your help.

The spool would not be good for the street, you will either break axles or
wear out tires really fast.

if you have a spool and an axle breaks on the track, i believe you slam into the wall

thats why you get upgraded axles.

But if you drive the car on the street, then you want an LSD.

Spool is for the 1/4 mile track only.

Thanks for the replys guys, but how bad would it be to drive to let's just say to go to the meets and make a couple of runs. Ok the car it's not really gonna be full street driving, It's mostly track and some street races. More input please.

I would not drive a FWD car on the street with a spool. Even if its just once or twice a month.

Its hard enough to drive a RWD car with a spool/welded diff on the street.

Drove my old car with a spool about 10 blocks to get from my house to the dyno and will NEVER do it again. It is very dangerous!! If there is going to be any street driving...for the safety of yourself and others around you...use an LSD. Its even much more pleasant when just driving the car around the pits with an LSD. Make sure you get a Quaife if you want something that will last a long time.
