Any tips?
Alright fellas check it out..I got a '03 civic lx. Its a damn 4 banger and its automatic! My parents know ima racing fan and ill go crazy if i get to make the decisions. so they got me this car. not really a guys car so i had to add hid kit and fog lights with a system. but to sneak behind there backs i need POWER! how the heck can i add power without my parents knowing. I graduated highschool but im in college so no time to work so they got me a car to get around. PLEASE HELP ME WITH IDEAS TO ADD HORSEPOWER JUST TO MAKE IT A LIL FASTER. Im not talking about make'n it a badass on the street just fast enough to keep up without flooring it on the highway. THANKS!

I could go on and on about this all day long, but to keep it simple:
grow up, don't be dependent on others, and make your own decisions...it's the only way your going to mature in life
I have people I work with who are 5+ years older than me, but act they are still 15 b/c of how dependent they are their parents for money, cars, house, etc... Trust me, you DON'T want to end up like that!
Now about the car...I would recommend keeping it stock and taking advantage of the good gas mileage. Especially with the price of gas these days... It will be a reliable DD if you don't molest the car. Plus if you ever go to trade in for a nicer (faster) car, you may get more for it if you keep it stock and just maintain it.
Sorry for the lecture, but (as you can tell) I have issues with people who still live off their parents. Please don't take this personal, just trying to help out

why would you wanna hide stuff from your parents anyway? seems to me that'd just cause problems and is a rather immature thing to do
im boosting my car to make it faster...only difference is it'll be faster, make a PPPSSHHHH sound, and the interior will have a couple of gauges. i already have an exhaust so they wont notice. so my finally suggestion is BOOST IT

7000 to boost is probablt outta the question he said he is still in college with no time to work so his parents buy his stuff......
Not smart to try and hide stuff if they are oayin for everything either

alright well my last post was some help. i want to add a little more power to my car just so i dont have to floor to keep up with cars on the highway. im driving a 03 civic lx and its an automatic. i dont want to be all speed speed racer the fact that its a 4 banger auto that is pretty darn slow. how can i find parts to boost my car adding some horsepower or what else should i do. i dont want to swap trannys or engines. just some good money spent enough to get from like 125hp to like 175 hp maybe. any help honda fans?
Oh boy.
I like your thinking. Right off the bat you told us exactly what you want, and what you DONT want to do to get there. Props for that!
Unfortunately what you DONT want to do is what most everyone here (minus me) is gonna tell you to do. So get ready to hear "Modding a D series engine is pointless. Swap or turbo"
Anyways...what I think you should do...just to get your toes wet in simple mods for simple power gains and a little DIY fun...is intake, header and exhaust. When youre done...wash it, wax it, buff it and detail it...you'll be happy....
....for now
Cheers!

haha yeah thanks! but no exhaust cause automatic soudns wack! haha maybe headers and a nice intake. any ideas on ecu chips or anything like that? d series...why couldn't have been an EX model *slap in the face* haha
work on a manuel swap or maybe just a k swap if you want some power......behind it all......i wish i had money for a kswap but if not go manual.....just that you'll appreciate the difference.....automatics are fun if you like to lounge alot.....lol head swap to an ex get a little tast of vtech..........lol my spelling is all over the place....
kswap...how much would that cost? and someone mentioning bout the no difference of an EX model i think it be better cause its a dohc. ill trade in my car some day. damn for some reason finding parts for this civic year and model is kinda hard to find the fact that this car isnt made for speed or racing. i do kinda wanna fix it up for show though...
There's only 3 well-documented ways to get more power in your car.
1. K-series engine swap.
2. Turbocharger.
3. Nitrous.
Other than that, you'd be wasting your time and money, because typical bolt-ons do not produce noticeable power numbers.
