Help me please!
ok my buddy has no driver's license, 2 warrants, and no insurance backed into my car today! I have a 92 hatchback. This car is my life, it's a long story but i don't want to loose this car. i had it estamated and it's going to cost about $2,932.28.
If my car is totaled will they take it away?
Will i be able to buy it back or something?
and how much does a totaled car cost?
Please help me out. I've never had anything happen to my car befor. so i'm new at the getting hit thing. I ussally do the hitting.

Sorry to hear about that.
If it's totalled the insurance company will pay you out for the book value of the car. You can buy it back and it's probably going to be about 20% of the amount of money you recieved. I'd say if you don't have anything worth anything on the car then just get another one. If you got a nice swap or something, buy it back get another hatch and use your old one as a doner .
By the way I'm not 100% on what I told you. This is based on the many o' threads I've read on H-T about insurance claims and buy-backs. Call your insurance company and ask them.

Sorry to hear about your car man... anyways there is some good news and some bad news.
I'm pretty sure that the car is totaled but i could be wrong. I check kelly blue book value of a 92 Si Hatch fully loaded and it came up with a price tag of $4985. If this is true then you don't have anything to worry about. You should go to the website http://www.kbb.com to make sure if this applies to your car too.
If it is totaled though you can for sure buy it back. Someone totaled my 93 Si and I was able to buy it back for $750. So its not too expensive plus you'll still get the money value of the car (just minus your deductable, and then the buyback cost). The only bad thing about buying the car back is that its gonna be a salvage title but if you don't mind then its all good.
If you do buy it back, a body shop can usually fix the car back up with less money than your insurance gives you. This means you'll have extra money for more toys!! Or you can do what SirRevvs says... both are good options.

That's what I was thinking...dude must be a backing up junkie! WTF was he doing?
If/when you get your car fixed...don't ever go near a place where your "friend" may potentially operate a motor vehicle.
Good luck man!

sorry to hear about ur car. and sucks that ur friend has no license or no insurance. will your friend pay for it ? if you dont have full coverage insurance, then ur screwed. show us some pics !!!!!

The only way you would be screwed is if you didn;t have full coverage. If so and they do total it just buy it back and take the left over $$ and build yourself another HB.
Good luck w/ it and sorry to hear about your ride man..
I just can;t figure out how your boy was going that fast in reverse to total your ride...deeezam

ummm beat the **** out of your friend and make him pay. how the hell did he back up into your car fast enough to total it seems a little bit of bullshit. anyways if you have no emotional attachments to your car just take the money and buy a new car unless you want stress.

Re: (p28jspeceg6)
Sorry i haven't replied, this **** sucks. That *** flew to vagas with his girlfriend planning to get married.
Ok to set it straight on hitting me. my car was parked with the e-brake on. and he is prone to backing up at full speed in his 98 chevy pickup. he's a faggit. when he hit my car he pushed it like 3 feet befor he stopped. the left corner panel was bow'd in from him hitting it. plus you know how it is with uni-body's.
I called the cops finaly just to get it done with. they have to arrest him when he gets back becuase of his, not 2 but 3 warents. This kid is no longer a friend. i gave him a week to figure out the money. and i know he has it.
so it all sucks. i'll try to get some pictures so i can show you guys.
IT sucks!

Re: (B16aDasher)
This goes to show most of you - pick your friends carefully! I see **** like this all the time. I personally dont associate with people who I cannot trust. Why the hell would you loan someone your car with 2-3 warants. Honestly, IMO, you were asking for it. Good Luck! I think you learned a lesson from this...I hope.
