yeah the trannys don't like the abuse and bad shifting.
Hard to prove that to a dealership, no one perfectly shifts. On top of that they can't prove you were at the track but nice try. Utilize that warranty.

I had the same problem with my third gear. It was like i was missing a shift when i knew i wasn't and it would grind sometimes if i didn't catch it. I read that 3rd gear in the 02-04 type s is really week and prone to going out though. I put the buddy club short shifter in and haven't had a problem sense.
I got the same problem with my 05 DC5... But in my case its second gear... I always have to hold down my second gear when shifting.. If i let go it causes it to pop out of gear make that grinding noise..
it sucks... and makes me mad sometimes...

hey just rebuilt a 02 rsx tranny for the first time i dont own one but i rebuilt it and tell you what i think that every one should check this out when you start getting a grind.....if you disconnect the cables form the shifting mechnismes you could take it out and inspect it i would suggest cleaning the top of the trans first but i know i had to replace the part of the shifing mechnisem that shifts 1st and 2nd the part that puts it in 2nd was all shinny and worn down this is pretty easy to take out and its worth a look and it easy to replace the part we waited to long and tryed to get it in gear by forcing it and ended up killen the second gear where the shift hub slides over.........and you know what the syncros were perfectly fine 74k on trans and supercharges for like 20k go figuer............................dont hate cause i cant spell thanks
