Default Vtec Wiring question

Im doing the wiring on the Vtec now. Im at the ECu and the place where the Vtec silenoid is supposed to go into A4 already has a wire in there. A3 is open and that is right under neathe it. Should I splice wires or should I Just plug it into A3

Someone any one???

Can you tell me where the Vtec oil Presuure switch and the Solinod are located on the motor, Im having issues with this. I think the Solinod is to the left of the distrubtor, and the oil pressure is on top of the fuel rail

dude look at the "how to wire vtec" thread.

You do NOT want to plug a wire into the wrong ecu terminal. splice into A4.

Well, if you splice the wire that was already there then what happens to that wire that you just spliced? You dont need that wire anymore or what? I'm in the processing of wiring vtec myself and that was one of my concern.
I can understand if it was an empty spot so you can plug in the vtec but it's already taken

I dont understand. Its a fuel injector wire. In that spot. Either Im looking at it upside down or IDK. Im going off the digram Cha4trx gave me. I looked in the how to wire the vtec section down. Read it three times, but Im still foggy about it cause this is what I have right now.

The black circle is the Vtec Solinod, and the red circle is the oil pressure switch?

Well I have this left over and something else plugged into the vtec oil pressure switch.

in your first pic, the 1 pin connector circled in black is you solenoid, the other circled in red is your oil pressure switch, which should have 2 wires, one of which should be grounded to the block, don't remember which though.

edit: the thing in the second pick is a purge solenoid for the EGR valve i believe, which on the US preludes is mounted in the firewall, so that is unnecessary.

do you have the temp switch on the thermostat housing plugged in? I believe it uses a similar connector.

Yeah I do its a purple plug. Thought right where the lower radiator hose is. I also have another plug on the chasis that I though matches up. I also have another Green plug that is up where the dizzy plugs are to.

depending on the year I think some chassis were pre-wired for vtec, which would explain why you have a wire in your ECU already and the extra plug you have I think. somebody correct me if I am wrong there.
