Default v-tec controller?

hey,

i have a 88 crx si with mini swap ek single vtec head. the ecu in the car right now is a obd0 integra ls non vtec.

can i just use a vtec controller to make my vtec pop?

or any other way to make my vtec pop without changing the ecu?

yes u can or conver to obd1 and if u could get a obd0 b16 ecu to they are like 80$ on ebay estimate guess

you can chip your stock ecu with turboedit and use a vtec map and hook it up for 1 wire vtec

Or you can do it right way and either chip the ECU you have now with the correct basemap + conversion or find a P28 or whatever stock ECU controls those b-tak single slammers.

getting the correct ecu would be best but you could also use an MSD RPM activated switch to do it.

The previous owner i got the car from said the previous owner before him wired up the vtec line to the TB and the vtec would engage at full throtle. it use to have msd but it got stollen and the owner parked it inside his garage for 4 year and left it eversince. so i just bought the car for $500.

yes, you can use a vtec controller on the PR4 ecu.
why dont you want to change the ecu?

gotta pay to play homie.

i dont see why a vtec controller is more money to you than a different ECU. but if you were wanting to cheap out on it and stay obd-0, just get a pr3 or pw0 ecu to run your sohc.


or yes, a vtec controller will activate vtec on the pr4 ecu. it just wont run as great as a proper ecu.

i will be geting my brother Vtec controller that he doesnt use and will be putting it on the car.

when i get this car running good or close to good ill be up for sale or trade.

i dont see that happening with a half *** setup.

do it right, or stick to DSMs.

okay, do it the right way then

i just got a pr3 obd 0 b16 ecu fron my brothers friend.

can some help me out with the pin out on this ecu or a link to help me intall this?
