I've searched everywhere, but can't find if a non vtec obd 1 ecu can be chipped for vtec. The junkyard where I live near has a lot of obd-1 non vtec ecu's, but no vtec. TIA
Please be easy on me

So is vtec activated in the software (after chipping of course) or do you need to add some extra hardware to the ecu for vtec?
not sure about adding software, but you will need to run wires to the vtec selenoid unless you have a vtec wiring harness already in the vehicle.... sorry if its not much help
They can be converted to vtech I think motes.net still sells the kits to do it. Most good honda shops will be able to do it also.
