v-afc hack, 450cc injectors: running rich and having trouble cranking
hey everyone, i've got a d16y8, greddy kit, 450 cc injectors and the v-afc. Everything is working perfectly except for a few things. For one thing even at -50 on the v-afc im running rich and spitting smoke (black smoke), part of that is probably because my cat is gutted, but also i've got another problem. When I start my car in the morning it starts right up, but if its warm, and i turn it off and it cools down, it has to crank for 3-5 seconds before it starts, and even when it does it has trouble. I was thinking that maybe one of my injectors is leaking after I turn the car off, and its flooding the cylinder? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

It sounds like your fuel pressure might be too high.
Lower it a few pounds and see what happens

The VAFC hack typically runs rich on a B18... that's a LOT of fuel for a D16. Drop your fuel pressure.
i have unplugged the blue box. and the fuel pressure is something i cant seem to get under control. My fuel pressure is around 50 psi at idle, depending on the climate, when its hot outside it will be anywhere from 50-54
. I have a walbro 255lph highflow in-tank fuel pump, and a B&M command flow fuel pressure regulator. When i lower the fuel pressure it does not move, it just chokes the motor but the fuel pressure stays at 50. I've tried the trick of drilling a hole in the FPR to let some of the pressure off by recycling fuel back to the fuel tank, but that proved almost catastrophic...the car started leaning out under boost, and was undrivable...its safe to say i've replaced it. Any help on how to lower the fuel pressure would kick ***!
