Default boosted HX???

Alright H-T..my EJ8 was hit by another car last week and most likely the insurance is going to total it out...There is a kid at my job selling his 97 HX with a stock motor with a bolt on turbo kit...I'm supposed to pick it up for about two grand..If insurance totals my car, i should get in the $ 4000 ball park figure...Anything to expect with this. What do u think about power??or should i take the extra money, get an ls swap and change the manifold and go with a ls-t since it has the turbo kit already??? i have a feeling that this set up will probably blow after a lil spirited driving and wont make much power...any input will be great...

Nah, you can probably force feed a good 180 at the wheels into that econo-motor as a daily drive w/o it blowing.

I'd keep the D in there till it blows and keep saving money, (just make sure it's tuned right). Then if you fry the engine, you can slap an LS in there, get a new manifold, and keep ur turbo.
