New Ep3
So I just bought an ep3 the other day..its a 2004 and its turboed..its got a full turbonetics turbo kit on it..and its really nice but theres a bad idle problem after it warms up a little bit it starts to bounce up and down and then after a few minutes it quites but it stays at 2k...by the way this is at a stop or while i have the clutch in..I cant figure out what it is...the guy at the dealership said it came from florida so where they had it tuned to the climate and everything down there thats why it does that but does that sound right to you guys...another thing I noticed is it has a 6 speed tranny in it and in the manual and all over online it says it comes stock as a 5 speed..so lol im just really confused on whats going on..I mean im not complaining i just wanna know..if anyone can help me out with the idle problem
Is it Kpro'd? I would get it retuned asap. Although the climate from Florida to Tennessee shouldn't mess with the idle that much.
You probably have the type s tranny or if you're really lucky, the k20a lsd tranny. What is the engine code?
I'm envious.

is the k20a lsd tranny a 6 speed..because mine is im pretty sure it is because both wheels spin when im in 2nd gear at full throttle..but im not sure..im gonna get it re-tuned asap..and see if that fixes it if not then im guessing an idle air control problem?.
Read the code and you'll know if you have LSD. Or jack the front end of the car up (both tires) and let it spin in first. Carefully try to slow and stop one of the tires (outside of the car). If you can, it's not LSD.
How much did you pay? Then I'll tell you if it's a k20a

Clean your FITV (Fast Idle Thermo Valve)

P.S. having it tuned in florida has no effect on it idling like that. It's not suppose to do that. He pulled one over you.

Sorry it was late at night and i posted wrong one even tho both act the same. For the K series motors we have an IACV (Idle Air Control Valve) not a FITV.
Here's the link for the IACV cleaning:
https://honda-tech.com/zero...age=1
Our IACV is located under the TB (Throttle Body)
The link is not for a K-series but the IACV is the same and cleaning it is the same. And both are basicly the same. GL and let us know how it goes.

i would do the idle relearn process first, then check the IACV.
check http://www.ephatch.com for the DIY on the idle relearn.
it's super easy.

yea i test drove the car..and it did it when i drove it and thats when i asked him what it was..and he said thats what he thought it was but he didnt know anything about turboed cars cuz it was at a dealership..he also was the one that told me it could be the IACV..thats why i asked..im gonna take it off and clean it today and see what happens..so you guys do not think i should get it re-tuned at all?
If you want to.. but i don't really see any point on getting it retuned unless you were super on drag racing where every different area is effecting your tune but i highly doubt that or unless it makes you feel better.
no lol im not like that i just want that idle fixed..im gonna take the IACV off tomorrow and clean it up and see if that fixes it hopefully it will.but i figured you shouldnt have to clean it after only 29k miles but who knows..thanks guys
