my hood cable snaped... how can i open it from behind the grill?
Get under the car, push some stuff out of the way, and open the latch manually.
Also, are you sure you snapped it? You may have just broken the part where the cable is secured to a bracket in order to maintain proper tension. Here, a response of mine from another "my hood won't open" thread.

You don't really need to take out your wheel cover yet. Access the cable and tug on it, is it attached to anything, or is it just flopping around and giving no tension?
I'm only asking these questions because I have a "trick" hood, where the cable has come off the bracket that maintains tension, and thus renders the cable useless unless I maintain the tension. Check to see if the cable has just snapped off the bracket due to its age. They're only held on by a tiny plastic ring, which can break after some years.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Try that first. If all else fails, go for the "manual override"
Oh, here's the thread. There's another possible solution there.
