My hood cable is pretty much shot, and my hood wont close anymore. I've tried a bunch of things but nothing works at this point. I know where to get the hood cable and what not, but I need to get the hood closed and latched in the mean time. What the hell can I do to get the hood to latch back closed????

 

guess is just latch itself
so change it
meanwhile follow the cable to where it ends in the latch
push the little lever and you will be able to close your hood.

 

Im not exaclty what you mean by pushing the little lever. Ive tried messing with the lever but that wont help either. The hood just pops right back up.

just push it with a screwdriver .

 

Oh yea I was doing that but it just kinda hangs there now...the tension from the cable is pretty much non existant. The cable isn't really doing anything at this point, that is why i need to replace it. But till I can get it to the shop I need a way to close the hood tight.

 

well use a bungy cord for now I guess
from the hood hook
to the towing hook that will help you for now
