help -> Hood latch cable stuck open!
Okay, here's the deal:
My hood latch cable is stuck out... meaning, I pulled the cable from inside the car, the hood opened correctly, but the cable did not return to it's original position!!! so now my hood won't close shut.
I tried hammering in the cable from inside the cabin but no luck. (it's stuck out)
I took off the bumer and removed the entire hood latch assembly but it's not the problem.
somewhere between the cable from inside the cabin and the cable connected to the hood latch assembly is the problem. anybody encounter this before and have any solutions? do i need to take off my front drivers side panel to get to another mechanism?
HELP!

i'd take off the latch off the front, have another person pull the lever from inside of the cabin and see if it pulls, then pull the handle on the latch to put it back....
if that doesn't work for ya, u might wanna get another hood cable assembly, or find where the hell the prob is, orrrrrrr, you could just get TIGHT *** hood pins haha
what can i say tho, i have hood pins....just for back up

yeah, i took everything apart and figured that the problem is somewhere inbetween the latch assembly and the cabin... looks like i'm gonna be removing the front driver panel
actually you dont have to remove the panel... just take off the wheel and inner fender liner and you can fish the new cable through using a bent up coat hanger and electrical tape....
true.. but before i have to buy a new cable.. i want to see if i can salvage the existing one. unless you guys think it's broken!
i guess there's a kink.. but here's what's confusing me: I did separate the cable from the latch and it ALREADY IS in the protective covering all the way. At the same time, the cable is sticking out inside the cabin. (btw, my handle is broken off the cable in the inside).
how hard is it to replace the cable??

This is back from the dead.
Replacing the cable is not that hard. You need to remove the fender liner and the driver kick panel. You may want to reroute the cable at this time to ward of thieves.
