Default Jumping Tach, Need A Fix

i had thought the cluster was shot (had a short) and that was the reason for my jumping tach. but after i put the prelude cluster in, i still had the jumping tach. so i figure it's the dash wiring that's worn out. and someone told me it could be my distributor?

question is, if i'm gonna get a new dash wiring harness..

a: does it matter if it's obd2 harness

b: does it matter if it's an EX harness (i have an lx)

if the above won't work i'm not sweatin it i just fig'd i wouldnt cost that much to fix a small tweak like that

What year accord?

if you have a 90-91 its deffinetly the distributor the 92 and 93s have external coils, so if u replace the coil it should fix it, but if dosnt then its the dizzy

I didn't know. I have a pretty good idea why your tach is jumpy though.

i claim to be OEM certified because i have a "nack" for buying only parts that come in a bag / box labeled "HONDA"

but, bad ground..will check when i put my new cluster in. "JDM" FTW

ahh gotcha.

thats a sweet cluster btw, how much did that run you?

and the ground for me was in the engine bay, seeing someone spliced two harnesses together, but it did exactly what your saying.

no mine was actually a broken wire, someone used a butt connector to splice them together and it came undone. i was just suggesting you look for the common ground and or grounds.
