b18c1 into 95 civic ex
just picked up a 95 gsr motor that came out of a 93 honda civic hatchback... dont get the ecu with it but otherwise is the motor plug and plug no need to change any pins in the ecu? any help would be really appreciated...
except for how your ECU doesn't have the right code for that engine.
it'll run, vtec will work, but your secondary butterflies won't work, and your fuel maps will be all off.
so get a GSR ECU, or convert yours.

secondary butterflies- i didnt think that b series had those thought only h22's did and for the knock sensor i have swapped a b18b1 into my old hatch and it was plug and play- do dohc vtec motors normally have knock sensors and a dohc non-vtec not have it? but besides running a knock everything else should work fine as far as you know?
B18c1 is the only B-series motors that have knock sensors and secondary butterflies (that can be removed). You can find the knock sensor wire at the driver's side plug @ the shock tower location. B18b1 (LS, non-VTEC motors DO NOT have knock sensors)
the gsr motor that i am running does not have a b18c1 intake manifold on it... im not sure exactly what the manifold is but it isnt the wierd looking stock one.... so i have to wire the knock sensor in and then the rest is plug and play

the p28 that you have in the car now will not look for a knock sensor... you will need to have the ecu socketed and then get a chip burned with b18c fuel/timing maps on it. and you'll be set.
if you use a gsr ecu i believe the knock sensor goes in d3... correct me if i'm wrong

quick question the harness on my b18c1 is all hacked up- could i just use my stock z6 harness on it then wire knock sensor depending on what ecu i decide to use?

yes
yes
if you seperate the O2 wires from the loom(do not cut), you should be able to make them reach, this is what I did when i put my z6 harness on my b16a, the z6 harness doe not have plugs for knock or IAB

the stock z6 harness has IAB plugs im pretty sure- just not the IAB plug for the secondary butterflies- but i am not running a c1 manifold so i could just use the stock iab plug on the z6 harness
your right- maybe im thinkin of the EVAP Sensor on the back of the z6 IM that sensor looks like a IAB right- well anyways since its not a c1 manifold i can just plug and play the stock z6 harness and then run knock sensor right
