how do i check motor compression if motor if out of the car?

Default how do i check motor compression if motor if out of the car?

Hey if im looking to buy a motor and want to test the motor out for compression to make sure it isnt beat to **** with low compression. How do i do this?

jump the starter directly with a battery, then use a compression checker as usual

i don't know what electronics in the starter this will destroy, but it'll tell you how good compression is

Still not very accurate readings cause the engine isn't warm. The only thing you can check with the motor removed is consistent compression.
