Default Daily Driven turbo at 7 lbs of boost reliable???

Okay I just rebuilt my engine and was considering joining the darkside.

I should've prepared and built my engine rods and pistons while the rebuild was taking place.

My question is will running 7 pounds of boost daily on a GSR engine with Type R pistons be a problem??

My pistons won't melt or anything will they?

You should be fine, just be mild on the timing.

Roll back your timing from stock to like 12.5-13 deg. Dont run stock timing..

Hey Art....question about timing. Wouldn't it better for him to get an MSD BTM (Boost Timing Master) or something instead? If he retards it to 12, 13, 14 degrees, wouldn't that be really bad when he's not boosting and driving normally?

I don't know too much about retarding and advancing timing, but I know that it has something to do with the time it takes for the spark to reach the plug relative to where the piston position is. If the timing is that far off stock, wouldn't the combustion be all funky?

Of course then again you may be right and I might just be on crack....but that's why I'm here. Edumacate me please Art.

retarding your timing does affect daily driving. gas mileage goes down a little and launches have a little bit of lag to it.
