Default JRSC build...I have some questions

I just finished rebuilding my motor and am getting ready to drop it back into the car. It's been built for boost applications and I'm putting a JRSC on it, however I'm missing some parts (bought it used) and so will be putting the motor in as is to break it in a bit, and throw the charger on later (once I get those parts). I have a couple questions involving the charger itself.

I'm wanting to boost a lot more than the standard 6psi. I've done some searches, and I know all about the pulley boost upgrades, so I know 9psi is doable, but it's not recommended to go any higher because of heak soak, etc, etc....and I know you can upgrade to two Endyn stepper pulleys to put out around 11-12psi, but on a non-modded blower, that basically wrecks the unit over time. On theoldone.com I found an article that talks about how you can send the charger and manifold to them, and they'll rework the units that allow them to produce up to 15-16psi safely/efficiently with the pulley upgrade added. Here's the link: http://www.theoldone.com/sc/jackson-upgrade.html. They've even got a page on there that shows step-by-step photos of an abused blower being refurbished.

I just want to know if anyone has had this done or knows anyone who's has and if so, what kind of power are you making? I know a lot of people are doing 250whp with basic bolt-ons and tuning with a standard kit but I'd really like to get over the 300 mark if it's doable. I push comes to shove, I can do 9psi and call it a day, but if that blower mod is doable, then I'm all in. In case you're wondering about the setup for my goals:

Golden Eagle Sleeved Block
JE 9.0:1 Pistons
JE Piston Rings
Eagle h-beam rods
Port & Polish
Competition Valve Job
550cc Injectors
255lph fuel pump
Hondata S200 (p72 ECU)
JRSC
and all your other standard air flow/fuel upgrades....

Edit: Before anyone asks....Turbo Cams and a valvetrain upgrade would help a lot, but that will come later down the road (and would definitely yield a significant power boost ). It's just not in my budget at the moment.

Instead of the Endyn blower bod, I definitely recommend the LHT Intercooler. Not only do they modify the blower to be more efficient, they also rework it to allow coolant to pass through the unit so that it is actively cooled. A lot of people have dropped their temps by 100 degrees. Search 'LHT' and you'll find quite a few threads. You can also contact user CRVRX, who works for them. Good luck.

I've searched LHT before and I've only found that they've made the intercooler for B series motors (I checked their website as well). I searched archived and recent topics by CRVRX and the only thing he's been selling are intercoolers for those motors. I've read in many of archived LHT threads that there was talk about creating an intercooler for the Prelude, but from what I've read, they did a prototype for one but never made a sellable kit, so it stopped there. I would love to do this upgrade, but I just don't think anyone's built one for public use. So I'm still considering Endyn's blower mod...

Have you contacted LHT or CRVRX? If the LHT intercooler isn't available, definitely go to Endyn. They do very fine work as well.

I heard that Endyn is one of the best out there.

I hoping to be able to throw some numbers at you soon. I have a similar setup to the one you explained above (my compression is 10:1) but I put this in a 4th gen. I had Endyn do the blower mod, and my complete head. Went to dyno tune and had issues with not the jackshaft belt but the accessory belt slipping. Once I solve this problem, I will head back to tune. WHats funny is the guys actually tuning and working on my cat happens to be LHT Performnce. Real good people. I can ask but I don't think they had enough people buying 5th gen supercharger to create a need for a intercooler although if one existed, I would be all over it.

I only have the 9lb pulley on and not the additional due to it not fitting. I assume endyne gave me the wrong one. I don't know. But with the partial tune, LHT said that it held steady, 10.6lbs of boost, all the way up until the belt started slipping.

What you should do is try to contact this guy on PO.com He has installed a nitrous system amoung other things and is getting some nice numbers, but with just 9 or 10lbs, I wouldnt expect more that 250 or 260.

Cool, just keep me posted when you do get those numbers, and yeah if you could ask them about an H22 intercooler, that'd be awesome.

As far as that guy on PO.com, he's spraying on a non-modded blower and is expecting it to break down so he can send it to Endyn to be rebuilt anyway, just to see how long the blower will hold up. That's not quite what I had in mind for this project, lol. It seems to me having the blower modded by Endyn is the way to go, with both pulley upgrades, since it's not looking too promising for an LHT intercooler setup.

In the thread above, he has the bottom end built with the blower mod and the nitrous installed but is using e85. This guy took it a step foward and replaced his pulleys with cogs also. He claims to be boosting at 17psi.
Also, in one of the theads, it states Endyn does not make the second pulley anymore for the 12psi

Something I haven't able to find out is how much load is required to for the blower to supply boost. As I understand it, boost is bypassed part-throttle?

Sounds like a pretty sweet setup. Also, a good idea with the cogs, I may look into that. It's too bad he's out until Jan 08, I'd like to know what size cogs he's running and how much he paid to have them made. 17psi is pretty impressive out of a JRSC, too...that means there's hope....

I got a hold of CRVRX, and he said LHT never made an intercooler for the Prelude setup due to lack of demand. So it looks like I'll be modding the blower through Endyn in the future. Hope this thread helps anyone looking to SC their Prelude.

yeah Geramys car is way cool, they got the cogged belts all on the motor, but were waiting for the good tranny to done and ready to go in when he got shipped out for a 4 month stay. Hopefully when he gets back it will all be done and they can get the car tuned properly!! It will be a monster, yet another Colorado boosted Prelude Monster.
