I have a lsvtec, b16 head with a few simple mods, cat back, intake, skunk 2 chip, victor X intake manifold. I was expecting my car to run with vw vr6 (popular car in my town, always talking smack about us honda lovers) . I keep gettin smoked by vr's. I was wondering since I have a LS tranny , if I was to get a type R, CTR or gsr tranny would my car be quicker? quick enough to make my car hang with vr6's?

 

yes it will. i run a b-16 tranny out of a 94 del-sol si really short geared. the ls has really long gears god for boost thow. But something is wrong i was beating vr's with a sohc v-tec with simple mods.

 

what could possibly be wrong? I was also killed by a stock 30v a4

 

what kind of car is it in, check engine light one, did you run any tests, and did you properly time it?

 

97 4 door inegra. Im not sure how the timing is. I ws planning on getting cam gears asap and doing my timing.

why downgraded motor?

1.6l in a larger car, that comes with a 1.8l

 

buy a timing gun,time it,run a compression test, do a tune up. then go to the dyno

 

Thats also a pretty heavy car but you should still be able pull on them. When does your v-tec kick inand what rpm are you shifting at and what computer are you using.

 

it was originally a LS its a b18 block with b16 head. Vtec kicks in at 5800 and im shifting at about 7500. I have a obdII with a skunk chip.

he doesn't got a poor mans r, he has an ls vtec, he even stated it in his first post.
