Default turbo h23a1

Well I recently got my prelude turbo project done and after about a week when I start to accelerate and it starts to boost after like 5 seconds of boosting the the engine feels like the feeling of down shifting at a fast speed. When I take my foot off the gas it goes back to running normal when it dumps the excess pressure or I just slam the throttle and the engine feels like it catches back up and starts to run normal so I have no idea whats going on and another thing that just started was the engine starts to go to the 75% heat level on the temp gauge. If anyone has any idea of what could be wrong please let me know thanks. A turbo shop did all the work and every time I go in to try and get it looked at they are like make an appointment that they never follow through with so I wanna handle it myself.

what they did was make a custom turbo set up with a drag manifold into a SI turbo with a turbonetics evolution waste gate a blitz blow off valve. also is running on a upgraded fuel pump and a msd fuel unit. they put it on the dyno and tuned it. the only electronics im running are the turbo timer. tell me if you need to know more

msd fuel unit is part of the fuel pump. and SI is the brand of turbo they used for my car. today i got the overheating issue fixed i changed the thermostat. its cooling properly now. the boosting problem i think is because the map sensor is loading up but im not to sure. i dont know what they tuned the car with but i do know they did and that they dynoed it so i dunno what other info you need.

its sad that you know nothing about your car or the parts that you paid to have done......

good luck keeping your engine running reliably.

i know alot about my car and the parts im running. its a base h23a1 engine running on stock internals. the turbo was built in house. the tranny is auto. I am running 9lbs of boost. im using stock injectors. stock ecu. I will put a list of every performance mod I have had installed or installed myself

1. custom turbo set up
2. Drag manifold
3 SI Turbo
4 Turbonetics Evolution Wastegate
5.custom intercooler tubing'
6.Blitz blowoff valve
7. MSD fuel pump and fuel regulator
8 NGK plugs and wires
9. Cap and rotor
10. Blitz turbo timer
11. Apexi N1 complete
12. Spoon thermostat
13. Koyo radiator and slim fans
The engine is completely stock so is the tranny.

I believe the motor was tuned using a vafc on the dyno like i said i dont know what setup they use to tune

My recommendation for you is to do more homework in regards to boosting (the FI forum is great place to learn all the basics) and how all the related systems work BEFORE going any further with your car.

That will never hold up in court. 99% of dyno shops require a waiver is signed before anything is tuned.

If you upgrade to a 3 bar you cannot run your stock ecu by the way. Your best bet is to upgrade to a better EMS.

well i never said i knew everything about turbos but the place that did the work told me i didnt need a new ecu so i said ok. so far i have invested about 7grand into the engine. so if i upgrade the ecu upgrade the map sensor and retune i should be good then.

Hondata ECU
