honda rippin me off?
hey jus came back from honda to geta quote on a new clutch. 1100?!?! they said 150 for the "press disk" and 120 for the flywheel. i dont think i need a new flywheel but theyre charging 840 for labor. they said its about an 8 hour job. is there any way else i can get a new clutch for cheaper? WAY CHEAPER?
no honda's not ripping you off, they tell you up front they're gonna take your cheeks. and they've been doing it for years. yeah labor is prob just around there by the book as i've said in your other thread. i wish there was a magic clutch fairy to pull out my clutch and put in the new one.
there's a full write up on clutch change i think.. lemme find it

ugh, getting the tranny out of our cars sucks the big one, it took me and 3 other guys like 6 hours to replace my clutch. i wouldnt say they're ripping u off, its a lot of work they have to do. on the other hand, it would be MUCH easier with a lift
o rearrry. lol
dude u cant ride that age thing forever =P im only 16 and i took everything except my motor apart o_o; got close when i was looking for my oil leak too lol.
find a shop, talk to a mechanic.. ask him if he'd do it as a sidejob. (usually they will for less, they gotta make bread) if u can find that, or even an unlicensed mech (like in cali, we have a guy thats currently going to tech school but had a prelude for 5 years and can swap w/ his eyes closed) just make sure you get someone competant and honest.
if you want longevity, stage1 is the way to go. if you want a springier/more responsive ride, look into racing clutches.. they last pretty long and makes it funner to drive IMO... my car is like my toy so i like it. i'd imagine that it is a toy for you too since you're 15... where do you have to go thats so gosh darn important?
