turbo dohc zc
well it been a while since i have been here so i forgot my password to this page. some of you might remember me as freshly boosted dohc zc on here. ill post up a few pics to refresh your minds

anyways i blew the head gasket over the summer and its been sitting sense. over the summer i have ordered traction bars, radiator and a slim fan. but now i have decided to go all out on a bottom end build. if im not mistaking the stock comp rating is 9.1.1 on this engine and was wondering how low of compression pistons i want to order. thinking about 8.1.1 or 8.5.1 and eagle h beam rods and a sleeved block. my goal of power is to hit 350+. going to run my turbo to about 18-19 pounds of boost on a good tune or try out my hx35 turbo.... for my power goals what is a proper piston as far as compression wise?
thanks in advance
Robert

im pretty sure you sleeves can handle the 350 Hp levels you are looking for. I dont know how low a compression ration you wuill have with vitars but i have that in my SOHC A6 block with tuner toys rods.
Good luck and i love seeing ZC builds. I wish i still had mine. O well....

Sure you are... Why do you keep posting here?? You're an idiot and nobody likes you or takes you seriously. Just go away.

Compression for the stock DOHC zc is 9:6:1 , if you put vitra pistion in a dohc the compression ratio will be super low like 7:6-7:8:1 because of are heads. The zc head drops compression compared to a single cam so vitara will not be a wise choice. I would go with wiesco piston, they make a piston made for the actual DOHC zc for the compression ratio of 9:1:0. Or you can do what I did and got some supertech pistons for a d16z6 that would be a compression ratio of 10:6:1 for them and it knocks down to 9:1 in the DOHC zc motor because of the head. Making 350whp + on the stock sleeve is no problem but I would not try it on pump gas. I made 300whp on pump gas with stock sleeves for two years. I am now making 350whp on race gas and going to turn it up some more for 400whp. Hit me up if you have any questions.
thank you LurkerS8.(for giving me some helpful info) i think i have made a decision for my pistions going with srp 9.0:1. never said i wanted vitra pistions. heardd that they are not really all that great. and ill get what i pay for. and i dont want to try and hit 350+ on stock sleeves. ill do it right this time and im not going cheap. what size pistion would you recommend on going? i was thinking along the lines of 75.50mm

lol you must have been bored but there is nothing wrong with my charge piping. and yes it was tuned just over heated due to no rad fan at the time. battery will be put in the back of the car, new rad will be put in with slim fan, and it will be cleaned up once the engine is out.
