Dohc ZC turbo
Hey guys I'm in the process of rebuilding my Dohc ZC. I have purchased new stock P27 pistons and was planning on reusing the stock rods and boosting it. Do you think that I would be safe running the stock rods. Psi will be between 6-8. I have read that stock D series rods can handle up to around 220hp before giving out. And I know that I will not be going over that but I thought I would get some other people opinions on this before I decide. Also do you think that the stock compression will be fine for a turbo setup.
Any help is greatly appreciated

yes, stock compression is fine for a sub 200hp zc.
if you go any lower you will lose all your bottom end.
if anything i would go higher compression.
my stock zc did 170whp and 140wtq at the dyno with no tune. but i would say stay below 200whp on stock stuff.

Re: (jdm_dc_fan)
Why not just build the bottom end?
Then you can beat the **** out of it, and not worry about the rods failing.
I'm getting set to do an Obd-1 Dohc Zc with eagle rods (haven't decided on pistons) I'm hoping for around 300 whp at around 15psi.

Re: Dohc ZC turbo (89civichb)
I just sold my engine, I was runing a t25 (12psi)turbo zdyne and dsm 450 injectors. It was fun to drive with the t25 instant boost was quick great in the city.

haha! dude, just no...
stock zc can easily push 15 lbs with the right tune, stock internals and all..
and to answer all your questions even a 99' y7 internals can hold up 11psi on a stock block with a good tune.. i know because thats what i had before my zc.. all i have is dsm 450cc, walboro 255lph, and a phearable.net ecu tuned with crome
(stock map will not hold over 11psi)
an previously in my crx with the dual cam zc i was on 9psi running 211.7hp, 173. trq at 6400rpms with a full tune running a constant 11.4 a/f
