I have a dc2.

There are 5 mounts.

3 top motor mounts(engine, trans, and rear)

2 lower motor mounts

I was told u only need the 3 top motor mounts, and the bottom 2 arent really necessary. is that true?

 

they wouldnt be there if they werent necessary. now if you were using aftermarket mounts like hasport or avid you wouldnt need the lower torque mounts.

 

the 3 are the main ones. if u get race mount they "say" you can get rid of others, but heard that casues more vibrations throughout car :/

wat about if I have inserts for the mounts? Its the same as upgraded mounts.

 

i'd keep them and get inserts for them too

 

i would keep all five mounts. as they mentioned before, u can run with just the 3. but it does tend to vibrate more. just keep it stock and do inserts . i have the replacements on mine (hasport) and i didnt really like it to much so i put back on the lower torques with inserts and now it's bomb diggity u know?

What is making you want to ditch the two lower mounts? As doood said, if they are there, they are necessary.

 

I would use all the mount honda did'nt put them on there for no reason.

yeah they do. i had them. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem . this includes the back mount and 2 lower sides mounts. the 2 top side mounts come in a separate kit.

 

i am running hasport/jimfab tq mounts and it vibrates quite a bit mostly due to the tq mounts. don't get rid of the tq mounts
