How much HP can you get out of a stock B18C1 N/A
I was thinking about dumping some cash into my 98" B18C1 Motor.
Just for Street & Daily Drive.
My C1 compression reads 245-255 across the board.
What can i drop into a Virgin C1 to accomplish 200HP @ the Wheels?
**I would like to not have to put new pistons in**
You live in So. Cali where it's been beaten to death and easy to do. Make the car breath and start with the head. You can start by using one layer head gasket or mill the head down to up the comp. You then port the head and get a IM, TB, Cams and Header that all work great and compliment each component of this build. Numbers are not everything you should work on the overall setup of the car and you will have much more appreciation of all that engine work which is rewarded by the details you put into it.

200 on a dynapack or on rollers?
I think you will need to reach at least 11:1 compression to achieve that much power.
My set up had the usdm itr pistons ( os ) , skunk pro 2 cams , a stock gsr head , dtr header , p28 computer with chrome from church.
the first time I dyno'd at churches it was 205 on the dynapack , a month later I dyno'd again on a dynojet ( rollers ) and it laid down 190.
With the set up mentioned above ( the upgrades were the toda b's --> skunk cams and jspec itr header ---> dtr header ) I went back to churchs and put down 217. Assuming I would have no problem doing 200 on the rollers...
piston upgrade might be a must.

Ive seen with just a Skunk2 Fake R manifold and Skunk2 Stage 2 cams, tuned on Hondata make 185whp and i forget how much tq. I'd imagine with head work, you'd be knocking on 200's door after that.
So to reiterate, Cam's, Hondata, Skunk2 ITR mani for GSR, and Headwork.
That will cost you a little over 3gs. If you shop around for deal's def. less. But the head work.
Also you'd need a good header, but JDM ITR header would do ok i guess too.

I would perfer a dynojet...but don't mind a dynopack since Shaun (CAT) Tuned my last set up fairly well!
I already collected a few items and would like to share w/yall:
Hondata S200
Aem High Volume Fuel Rail
RC 750cc (I know its an overkill, but might not even use it)
Skunk 2 IM
Skunk Adjustable Cam Gears
F1 Spec Tri-Y Header
AEM CAI
I don't expect a high base # for the following, but would like to maxx-imize the block to its peak.

Holy understatement of the year!? Jesus guy...you're not gonna make 500 whp....
How much $$ do you have to spend? Do you already have an ecu to chip for the S200?

what about cams? valve train? headgasket? port job? all those can contribute to making 200whp

To answer the previous Q?
Yes i have a chipped Hondata ready P28 ECU.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by n1_egsex »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">

I was going to run the
Skunk Pro 1
Super-Tech DVS & Ti-Ret.
Cometic gasket
Like i mention earlier in the thread i would like to push the limits of the motor. So no port work or milled yet. (unless i can get a CNC port job 4 cheap. LOL)

With no head work, and head gasket, just stock head, bottom end with those cams and a good IM with a good header, 18xwhp is possible.

currently running camp 1320 header and skunk2 Im. installing brian crower stage 2 cams, springs, retainers, and oversized valves. Getting the head milled also. dynoing on fri. I'll post results

power is in the head and getting the motor to flow..
efficency is key....
i made 181whp with a stock block USDM GSR on rollers with a cat tuned with a VAFC.....

O and if you reeeeaaally want to reach 200whp, even on the rollers, get someone who knows how to "play" with dyno's and tune just for peak power...it will make getting 200whp on a dyno sheet that much easier
