Default problems with b20 in 96 civic

1996 civic lx
OBD2 JDM B20B

running civic wiring harness
running obd1 ITM w/ obd1 injectors and clips.

problem 1. IACV from 96 civic d series had three wires. LS ITM has 2. I cut and spliced (soldier and tape) the + and the - to the proper positions on the IACV since i have a honda service manual was this correct or is there something else i should do with the three wires to the 2 wire sensor?

Problem 2. Obviously the D16 had a Crank position sensor. and apparently the obd2a ls computer is also calling for one. hense the CEL listed below. what do i do about this?

im also getting 2 CEL codes. Ive gotta actron code reader and the codes are as follows.
- P1508 Idle Air Control Valve Circuit Failure (Acura) obviously from above problem
- P1337 Crankshaft Speed Fluctuation Sensor No Signal (Acura)

first off if you have nothing to contribute but senseless posts (aka. postwhoring) to get your posts up, then you need not be here taking up bandwidth.

what did he learn the hard way?

1st. whats your plans for this b20 motor? boosting? sure they are good for boost but in this case they have thinner sleeves. What i would recomend is get an LS block and put the b20 head on. It lowers compression more esp if you have a thicker headgasket (i think im right, cant remember) otherwise if you plan on just boosting the B20 block run lost boost. As for by passing the crank positioning sensor. Do it, it works...just did it for my LS motor and its a hell of alot cheaper than paying the $200 for the sensor...mayb more.

All truth to the contrary there is no such thing as a jbm b20b, thats a usdm motor. All I ever came across was a b20b long block usdm spec. Even if there is a jdm b20b, Im sure it's compression is rated the same as a usdm spec.

My boy had a 99' usdm b20b longblock(9.6 compression) with a b16 head and all though it pulled hard the sleeves just crumbled after a month or so. That block isnt made for beating on, thats the only reason why I called upon the LS block for duty. Im not sure what the final compression was once the b16 head was thrown on.

Taking up bandwith=.......slap...

truth be told there is no such thing as a USDM B20B.... all usdm motors have a 5 digit alpha-numeric engine code.
