all that nice work and you have an obx wastegate? are you asking to blow your motor? i cant understand people who skimp on such vital parts of an engine assembly. why not use foil in place of the main bearings? i hear the good ones can be spendy and foil should work fine..........

nice manifold btw

Boost cut among other things will protect him from this "shitty" wastegate.

Is that just oridinary SS flex tube for the WG flexpipe? I was told that was impossible to weld, so I never bought any. I was able to find very cheap ss flex, but its 1.75ID, and still more $$ than just ss flex tube.

BTW as long as the WG's valve shaft and seal are smooth and seal well, and you don't rip the diaphragm, it will work just fine. Boost creep is mainly from a leaking valvestem in the WG, and obviously a torn diaphragm won't work...

99.987% thats a fab motor

Looks great! I love EF's with nice well built yet modest turbo setups.

Thanks for all the comments guys.

Yep that is a huge hole in the block and yes it is just used to mock up manifolds.
I know im taking a chance with the wastegate but i have used 5 of them so far and none of them have failed yet. Just tore them down an reassembled with loctite . I use the car for track days and the hundred horses just aint cuttin it anymore. Hopefully this setup will get me 200 wheel which should make it a hell of alot more fun.

The flex piece is just a piece i got at autozone and yes it was a bith to weld. It was hard not to just blow thru the thin flex piece. Do u guys know where i can get the stainless version of this stuff?

And as for the whole cheap wasteate is like using foil for main bearings speech..... seriously, just stop

only thing I would change would be to merge the wg dump into the down pipe farther from the turbo. It looks like there is space for them to run side by side under the oil pan, so maybe as far as the exhaust flange.
