Default Tech tips ne1? burning smell under load

i drive an EG, with a jdm itr swap.

my motor *knock on wood* does not burn any oil at the moment. however underload say any gear around 4-8k rpm going up a hill, it smells like burning in the car.

it doesnt smell like burning oil... it smells like burning.

i have checked my exhaust, changed all my gaskets but no luck. anyone tips of what i should be checking next?

thanks

oh yes, i have a 2.5 t1r test pipe along with a jdm itr header.

the header is covered everytime i change the oil, so the oil doesnt get stuck in there and burn

yea internal combustion... meaning it does not burn outside.

i know the smell after installing a test pipe, and its not it.

if you want to be sure. do compression test and leak down test and report us back.

if the reading is low . time for rebuild

or i have a better solution for you .. get rid of that b18c and get k20a .

so something smells like burning and u dont know what it is. and you're saying it's not oil. then is it coolant?. or do you smoke too much pot in your car and you dropped a cherry on your backseat when you're giviner in vtec..? that has to be it

"There, all finished... Good Will Hunting, by Matt Damon."

"Hey, uhhh, so do you think we can put both of our names on that?"

"What? All you've done is smoke pot and eat Ben and Jerry's for the past 6 months!"

"Hey, I, I, helped..."

"Oh yeah? Pitch me a line, right now just pitch me a line?"

"*lifts butt cheek* brrrRRRAAAP"

"See this is what I'm talking about!"

"Is there anymore pot?"

Really? How do you know this? Have you run a compression/leakdown test? Or are you just in denial that your engine might not be up to snuff?

Ghey-Swaps (EL OH EL Yack ) have gone down quite a bit... Sell your swap for $4,000 (Considering it is in good health), you can find a K20R swap for that price, then spend a further $1,000-$2,000 on install parts (i.e. Pending on which direction you take for installation, how many used parts you can find, etc). So really, you'd only be spending a few grand.

Have you checked your PCV system? Specifically the PCV valve?

I'm being helpful, in my own way. If you read through, there is useful information in that post.

-Run a compression/leakdown test.
-A K-Swap will not cost you $10,000
-Your engine might be blowing by
-Check your PCV (As neo said)
