No more then other motors, I've come to the determination that most of the b16s put into our cars are of the obd0 range, so when people complain about how they burn oil and they usually don't have the freshest gaskets and seals (valve seals in particular), so its more over a thing of your still putting in a motor from 89-91, not a gs-r thats from 94-2000 etc etc. A lil refreshening while the motors out can do wonders for reliability.

Absolutely. The seals will be older so oil will get by them in small amounts, and over time, you'll be losing oil.

I also assume that most people with B16s beat the snot out of them on top of having old seals and gaskets, leading to even greater oil loss.

Half a quart isn't that big of a deal, in fact some engine rebuilding guides will say that your engine is technically fine if it burns a quart or less between oil changes.

the engine is basically new. but like you said it is older to start with. i have a tiny leak some where to. i mean i can stand it burning a little i mean almost all vtec cars do. i only burnt a quarter qurte of oil. so what gaskets would be good to replace it? and how much would that cost?
