^agreed. A sub generally is only as good as the amp that pushes it.

Yes the sub is OK, it will work pretty well with that amp in a small sealed box, [1 cuft net], a "SQ" box will need to be about 4.5 cuft, [sealed] although the power handling drops to 300W continuous in the bigger box.

It will also work in a vented box, [slot port] 1.75 -2.25 cuft + port displacement, again power handling is 300W continuous, in vented boxes.

The owners manual you get with the sub will have all the info you need for box size and construction and VC wiring.

The above assumes you are talking about the COMP VR 12"... http://www.kicker.com/06/tech-...b.pdf
and not the COMP VR D-Series 12"... http://www.kicker.com/06/tech-...n.pdf 94

Not true that CVX's are louder, CVR's can get loud in the proper ported enclosure. They are great subs I recommend them.

If you build the CVX's in the proper enclosure they get louder than the CVR's...

Let's see, you have a 750W sub and a 400W sub, you put both in proper boxes, power them properly, and the 750W sub is louder, well hell who knew, maybe Hatch will make it a sticky. 94

For optimum output and SQ the box needs to be built to spec, that is even more important with vented boxes, and downright critical with band-pass boxes. 94
