I heard that also but I also heard that when the water starts to evaporate it can get into the paint. Can anyone explain this?

I've read more evidence that water can evaporate into the mist of the paint and affect the overall quality of a paint job, as where if you spray water on your floor, it simply minimizes the mess of paint being on your floor.
You could alway go out and purchase a large painters plastic tarp and roll your car onto it to minimize the mess.

yup water just keeps all the dust on the floor from getting in your paint.. overspray pics up lil specs of dirt and then you end up having trash all over your paint... srpaying water on the floor is
yup i sprayed down my floor along with a mist on the plastic i hung for walls
i allso have been told by a painter that filling cans with water and setting them by the walls will help as well (shurgs) going to try this on my next paint job ....

what kind of paint did you use?
ppg? single stage / omni?</TD></TR></TABLE>
C'mon you should all know all I shoot is PPG. I don't mess with ANYTHING else. Well I do shoot Dupont and Nason at work. I would never shoot a single stage on my own cars. I can lay the SS down like glass but I feel more comfortable knowing that a nice thick coat of PPG clear is on it
The car was never wetsanded, only cut and buffed
Sadly she will be leaving me this sunday and I am getting my new project...... A 96 Midori EK
She will be getting a shaved/tucked bay and a fresh coat of paint as soon as she is in my hands
By the way it has a LS swap to entertain me until I drop the K series in.
As far as the offset on the wheels I forgot, there is a whole thread on these wheels.

Don't mind the wheel color, I photoshopped it to see what it would look like.
Did it in a big barn this past summer. Took me about 2 months to finish it because of work because this is my only DD. It was a lot of hard work because I used a cheap $50 Napa gun with a pressure gauge. Lots of wetsanding but...it was a great experience. I really miss painting now. I wanna try to get my hands on a quality gun and work on my skills.
painted it in 20º weather, and had my girlfriend open the garage when it was drying..
dried it with a propane heater
still didn't turn out too bad

Thats what I thought it was. Sorry to see that, other than that it seems pretty nice.

My OCD qualities wouldn't let me leave it like that. Break out the sandpaper time!

There are a couple spots where I didn't wet sand enough. Lately is bugging me more and more so when I get the chance I'm going to do that and probably respray that area where the metallics spread out too far. I think it was because I used paint thinner instead of slow reducer for that batch of paint.

^^ did you turn off the pilot light on your water heater? doesn't that pose a huge threat?
i want to know because i want to paint my car in my garage but i have a pilot light in there. i know i can simply turn it off... but i have a big family and having no hot water for a good day is an ugly sight.
