i'd like to try painting my mugen gen II wing myself, any tips on how to remove previous paint in a safe manner? Any experienced member willing to share the process of prep and painting as well? Thanks!

Buy paint stripper that is safe to use on your wing. I'm not familiar with the materials your wing is made of.
Apply generous amounts of stripper to wing to remove old finish.
Once its clean from old paint, scuff it using a maroon scotch brite pad.
Apply adhesion promoter from a spray can(bulldog adhesion promoter works).
Apply primer after adhsion promotor
Let primer dry, sand primer, apply base coat/clear coat/rattle can.

Stripping it is only needed if the old paint is chipping off.
If the paint is in good condition, just sand it with some 400 grit wet and spray your new color.
