Default Low idle (sometimes)

I have a 2000 ex coupe and sometimes the idle is lower than normal usually on hotter days and only when the sun is out, I also notice that when I am reverseing as soon as I take it out of reverse to go into first the RPMs will drop significantly. Has anybody else had a similar problem?

I have the same car and I've been having a low idle too. It usually only happens when the outside temp is on the warm side. I've done the following.

cleaned IACV numerous times.
replaced IACV with a know working one
cleaned TB

Final result....I'm still getting low idle. I mean really low, but it never dies.

I haven't bled my coolant system yet. You/we may have bubbles in it. I may replace the O2 just because.

The only constant thing is that it usually only happens when it's hot out.

I was tuned on Crome a little over a year ago and was idling just fine. My idle problem started happening a few months back.

I used to have the same issue in my 94 ej1 solved the problem by cleaning the TB and using a fuel injection system cleaner (not just the ones you mix with gas)

this is starting to be a characteristic of civics. just like the quarter panel herpes. its bound to happen.

a fix for me was replacing my new(er) chassis grounds (99 GSR) to my old rusty stock grounds (92si) then resetting the ECU and letting it idle for a few minutes w/ no load. i went out and puched it to redline a few times and now it doesn't do the stoplight shutters anymore.

this is one of those effed up issues thats got a different fix for everyone. search "low idle" and start to troubleshoot. don't replace and pray cause thats just gonna cost a fortune. after replacing o2 sensor, IACV, TB, ETC. all it took was a set of crusty ole cables in my box of parts that never made it back into the car.
