Default cai installed and now strange idle

Ok so i helped install an intake that i was running on my car (4th gen srv) Since the car got written off i parted this part out and i helped the buyer install it. It worked great on my prelude but for some reason there is a very strange idle search in first gear.

When the car drives in first and you release the clutch when moving slow, coming to a stop the idle bounces 50-100 rpm. i know its not very much but the owner is a little concerned. i plugged all the vac lines so there are no leaks and we double checked after and i checked again when he brought his car back.

Do you guys think its just something to do with the egr or something like that? dirty?

uncap that small vacuum hose that you removed on the stop intake pipe

no its not while sitting at idle it jumps 500-600 rpm. I know the solution for that because my car did that for a while.

I have never seen this happen before. When the clutch is engaged and you release the clutch after youve shifted to second the idle bounces upwards about 50-100 rpm. Just a little bounce, its really hard to explain and really weird.

Personally i don't think its a big deal because at idle its solid as a rock but the guy i sold the cai would like to know whats up

that is strange. I had posted a thread earlier this week about the same thing. Except my Idol would jump from 500 to 2000 in neutral. I ha capped off a vacum line before installing a new air intake. I uncapped the vaccum and filed the coolant up(IDK) and it stoped doing it.

Usually, that would be a dirty IACV.

Just so you know, the problem has nothing to do with the CAI. So I wouldn't worry about it.
