you can advance the timing on pump gas.

reasons to run race gas:
500+whp turbo motor
fully built NA, 13:1 compression and higher......250whp+

race gas simply slows down the burn rate of the fuel thus allowing you to run more power without sacrificing ignition timing to keep it from detonating.

Ive made my own RACE gas but I did it to run full timing with Nitrous.....
TOLUENE FTW!

Waste of money for your setup though.....
Spend that money on tuning tuning tuning!!!!!

My guess is that race gas is more exspensive than pump gas.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by ronmoreno16 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">So how did putting race gas in there go with ur wallet?</TD></TR></TABLE>

Right now, I can get 100oct for about $5/gal
At the track, they charge anywhere from $6-8/gal for 104-110 IIRC
If anyone wants to make their own race gas let me know.....I have done it with great success.
Ive made ~270whp on Pump gas with a 100 shot of Nitrous!

if all you have done is a vfac your not going to gave any performance, but possibly detonation from that high of octane with a stock and untuned motor

high octane burns slower and more predictably and lessens the chance of detonation. thats why you use it in high compression engines, if you have like 15:1 compression the gas would blow up even without a spark present (assuming the engine is warm). then you would have yourself a diesel

i've also heard that race gas can be leaded and damage your emissions system. hence why its only used on track cars that are not street legal. so its pretty much useless and potentially harmful for your engine and subsequently will hurt your fuel milage cause you'll expletive up your cat converter. someone correct me if im wrong though...

Its not too friendly on the O2 sensor, however you CAN get it in an unleaded form but your prolly not gonna find it at any local pump.
