Default header installation

i have a cracked DC header and i just got the new HYtech header!! how long would it take for them to remove and install the new header....and around how much money

Probably would take an hour or so with the proper tools... I'd do it myself if I was you.

yeah, if its aftermarket dc header chances are its not rusted on (as it would be on a stock 93 prelude header lets say for instance, lol) so you should get in some grubby clothes and go get dirty

DIY, it would be cheaper even if you had to buy the socet/wrenches/ extensions than to pay someone else to do it. Wear goggles and gloves though. Rust in the eye sucks ***

eww man.

OP: If you have a jack and jackstands, do it yourself, if not, just take it to the shop. They're probably going to need to do some fab work with your catalytic and exhaust setup anyways.

for those who have done this, are there any specific adapters/extensions/ or otherwise special tools that help....maybe not required, but helpful?

You'll need about a 12" extension to tighten the bolts on the 4-&gt;2 flange. Thats about it, maybe a breaker bar to get the old one off if its a real bitch.
